My book of nothing is a journey of experience in finding nothing. It is then intended to presented in a small AVI movie in the PDF. However the very limited format of this blog stops me uploading the small avi along side. what can ya do?So instead here is a separate moving GIF file of the moving book of NOTHING.

i found making my second ‘book of nothing’ quite hard. its differenent from the first one, more because the first one was more sculptural than bookish. i spent another hour in silence just meditating on it, not even moving or making.

Silence and Other Ways
Book One
“A Book of Nothing”
Material Needed:6 x A1 Sheets of ‘Bulky News’
In response to the readings distributed design and make a book about nothing.
What does it look like? What does it remind you of?What does it sound like? What can be read from it?
If the answer to any of these questions is “something” then start over.
Remember it is still a “book”.
Observe one hour’s silence while making your book.
Document your process of “making”
Format for Submission: You must photograph your book as if it is to be exhibited in a gallery: Each page, front to back. Think of it as an artifact, as something of critical cultural significance. Compile these images into a horizontal (landscape) in Illustrator (or similar) and write a statement (100 words maximum) that accompanies your book. Save as a PDF with the file name: [your name]BOOK1.PDF
Upload your file to the Blog http://silenceandotherways.wordpress.
